Workshop Objectives:

To understand the history, background laws, rules and regulations for HIPAA, HITECH, Texas Health and Safety Code Chapters 181 and 611 and other federal and state privacy and security protection of confidential health information.
To provide practical tips for compliance with federal and state privacy and security laws for the use and disclosure of protected health information and electronic protected health information.
To discern the differences between federal and state privacy and security law requirements to ascertain what provisions are applicable to covered entities, business associates, and subcontractors and within each workforce member’s scope of employment.
